The analysis is mainly carried out from the following aspects:
1. Design processability of large castings. When designing, the shape or size of the casting should be determined according to the working conditions and the performance of the metal material. This must be considered from the perspective of casting materials or casting process characteristics. The most obvious is the effect of size and solidification, as well as a series of issues such as shrinkage and stress, so as to minimize the occurrence of defects such as component segregation, deformation, and cracking of castings.
2. A reasonable casting process should be selected during processing. According to the structure, weight, size of the casting, the material selected for casting and the production conditions, a more suitable parting surface, modeling and core making method can be selected, and the chill, riser and pouring can be reasonably set to ensure the production of high-quality steel castings.
3. The quality of the selected raw materials. Whether the quality of materials such as furnace charge, refractory material, fuel, solvent, casting sand and coating meets the standard determines whether the casting will have defects such as pores, pinholes and slag inclusions, which directly affects the appearance quality and internal quality of the casting, and may even lead to scrapping.
4. Processing technology operation. To process castings, it is necessary to select a reasonable processing operation process, strengthen the technical level of operators, and strictly regulate the process flow.
